Two New Books from Jack Preston King

You may have noticed I haven’t posted much serious writing on Medium lately. That’s because I’ve been focusing the last few weeks on a number of publishing projects, two of which are now in stores and ready for purchase!

Amazon Book Description:

Do arrogant Twitter atheists make your blood boil? When Richard Dawkins, the Amazing Randi, or Bill Nye the Science Guy smugly tell you how stupid you are for believing in God, or psychic powers, or ghosts, or the afterlife, or even your own immortal soul, do you want to just reach through the screen and strangle them?
You’re going to love this book.
Jack Preston King is not an apologist for any one religion or spiritual path. He’s a defender of the human spiritual impulse in all its forms. In these 25 rollicking essays, King makes the case for both the reality and importance of spiritual experience, citing Jungian and Cognitive psychology, neuroscience, shamanism, Taoism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sufism, Pentecostal Christianity, Wicca, philosophers from Aristotle to Plato to Hume to Nietzsche, quantum physics, and even pop culture icons Philip K. Dick and the Face on Mars. Read this book, and the next time some jerk on Twitter says magic isn’t real, and human beings are soulless, chemically-driven animals inhabiting a dead, material universe, you’ll be armed and ready to make your stand In Defense of Magical Thinking.

Now that these books are published and available for purchase, I’ll be taking down writing here that is included in them (except for a few samples, the ones with the most recommends), so as not to be selling books whose content people can read free on the web. We talk a lot here on Medium about how to get paid for our writing, and I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that the way to do that is to just do it. Here’s my books! Buy them! Thank you!

My half-baked plan, going forward, is to post essays on Beyond the Robot/Medium like I’ve always done, and when I get to 40,000 or 50,000 words, hive them off into a new book for sale, yank them off the Internet, then start another round. So IF YOU DON’T LIKE PAYING TO READ, just follow me and/or Beyond the Robot, and you’ll get to read everything I write for free! For a limited time only!

Tell your friends! Thanks!
